Priority Pass No Longer Works for Domestic Airport Lounges

From 28 August 2026, Priority Pass issued with the Axis Bank Magnus for Burgundy Credit Card can no longer be used to access domestic airport lounges in India.

Domestic lounge access will continue, but you'll now need to present your Magnus for Burgundy Credit Card along with a valid boarding pass at eligible lounges in India.

Priority Pass will continue to work for eligible international airport lounges, including international departure lounges in India after immigration.

If airport lounge access is one of your biggest priorities, you can also check our Top Credit Cards for Airport Lounge Access in 2026 to compare other cards offering complimentary domestic and international lounge benefits.

DCC Markup Increased to 2%

If you usually choose to pay in INR while travelling abroad, it'll now cost a little more. From 28 August 2026, Axis Bank will increase the Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) markup from 1.5% to 2%.

New Reward Point Exclusions

Axis Bank has also added a few new Reward Point exclusions. From 28 August 2026, the following transactions will no longer earn Reward Points:

  • Bridge Fees

  • Road Fees

  • Toll transactions

Gift card purchases will continue to remain excluded from Reward Points and spend-based annual fee waiver calculations. They will now appear under a separate Gift Card spend category instead of Wallet spends.

If you regularly use your card for toll or similar infrastructure payments, these transactions will no longer contribute towards your rewards.

Other Changes You Should Know

Alongside the benefit revisions, Axis Bank has also updated a few operational terms for the Magnus for Burgundy Credit Card.

Complimentary Memberships Will Require Your Consent

From 15 November 2026, complimentary memberships linked to the card will no longer renew automatically.

Instead, Axis Bank will ask for your consent before renewing eligible memberships. Renewal details and consent options will be shared closer to the renewal date.

Late Payment Fee Revised

From 28 August 2026, the late payment fee for outstanding balances of ₹50,000 and above will be ₹1,300. The remaining late payment fee slabs remain unchanged.

Payment Allocation Order Updated

Axis Bank has also revised the order in which credit card payments are adjusted against outstanding balances.

Going forward, payments will be applied in the following order:

  1. Applicable fees and charges, including taxes

  2. EMIs

  3. Interest charges

  4. Purchase transactions

  5. Cash advances

Who Is Most Affected?

These revisions are likely to matter most if you:

  • Use Priority Pass for domestic airport lounge access.

  • Frequently choose DCC while travelling abroad.

  • Expect Reward Points on bridge fees, road fees or toll transactions.

  • Prefer complimentary memberships to renew automatically.

  • Occasionally carry an outstanding balance of ₹50,000 or more.

If you primarily use the Axis Bank Magnus for Burgundy Credit Card for airline and hotel transfers, premium travel benefits or regular domestic lounge access using the credit card itself, the overall impact of these changes is relatively limited.

Should You Still Keep the Axis Bank Magnus for Burgundy Credit Card?

These changes are better described as a revision to the card's terms than a major devaluation.

The biggest change is that domestic airport lounge access now requires the physical credit card instead of Priority Pass. The increase in DCC markup and the new Reward Point exclusions may affect some users, while the remaining updates are largely operational.

None of these changes fundamentally alter what Magnus for Burgundy offers. However, if you rely on airport lounges, travel overseas regularly or want to maximise your Reward Points, it's worth keeping these revisions in mind before your next transaction.

This isn't the only credit card to see benefit changes this year. You can also read our Credit Card Devaluations: What's Changing in 2026 for a roundup of the latest revisions across major banks.
