If you’re using EDGE Rewards or EDGE Miles for the first time, it’s important to understand how point transfers work and what limits apply when moving your points.
Axis Bank Hotel and Airline Transfer Partners
Axis Bank has partnered with several domestic and international airlines and hotel chains, allowing cardholders to convert their reward points to these partners based on their travel needs. To manage transfers better, Axis Bank has divided all partners into two categories - Group A and Group B. Each group has its own transfer limits.
Axis Bank Transfer Partner Grouping
Most international airline and hotel partners fall under Group A, while Group B includes a mix of international and domestic partners. Your annual transfer limits are split between these two groups.
| Group A | Group B |
|---|---|
| Accor Hotels (Accor Live Limitless) | Air France-KLM (Flying Blue) |
| Air Canada (Aeroplan) | Air India (Flying Returns) |
| Ethiopian Airlines | Air Asia |
| Etihad (Etihad Guest) | ITC |
| Japan Airlines (JAL Mileage Bank) | IHG® Hotels & Resorts (IHG One Rewards) |
| Marriott International (Marriott Bonvoy) | Qantas Airways (Qantas Frequent Flyer) |
| Qatar Airways | SpiceJet |
| Singapore Airlines (KrisFlyer) | Post Card Hotels |
| Turkish Airlines | |
| Thai Airways (Royal Orchid Plus) | |
| United Airlines (MileagePlus) | |
| Wyndham Hotels (Wyndham Rewards) |
Axis Bank Transfer Partner Capping
Axis Bank applies an annual cap on how many points you can transfer in a calendar year (1 January to 31 December). This capping is applied at a Customer ID level, so if you hold more than one Axis Bank card, the limits are combined. Cards that earn EDGE Rewards are subject to a combined annual transfer cap, with the limit of the highest-capped card being applicable. In the same way, all cards that earn EDGE Miles are also grouped together and capped under a single combined limit.
| Card Type | Capping in Group A | Capping in Group B | Overall Capping |
|---|---|---|---|
| Burgundy Private | 3 Lakhs | 12 Lakhs | 15 Lakhs |
| Burgundy Magnus | 2 Lakhs | 8 Lakhs | 10 Lakhs |
| Olympus | 1.5 Lakhs | 6 Lakhs | 7.5 Lakhs |
| Magnus | 1 Lakh | 4 Lakhs | 5 Lakhs |
| Reserve | 1 Lakh | 4 Lakhs | 5 Lakhs |
| Atlas | 30,000 | 1.2 Lakhs | 1.5 Lakhs |
| Select | 1 Lakh | 4 Lakhs | 5 Lakhs |
| Privilege | 1 Lakh | 4 Lakhs | 5 Lakhs |
| Rewards | 1 Lakh | 4 Lakhs | 5 Lakhs |
| Horizon | 1 Lakh | 4 Lakhs | 5 Lakhs |
| IOCL Premium | 1 Lakh | 4 Lakhs | 5 Lakhs |
| Other cards | 1 Lakh | 4 Lakhs | 5 Lakhs |
Understanding Capping with an Example
Let’s say a person holds three Axis credit cards: Magnus Burgundy, Reserve, and Rewards. Each card has its own annual EDGE Reward transfer limits.
- Magnus Burgundy: 10 lakh points (2 lakh Group A + 8 lakh Group B)
- Reserve: 5 lakh points (1 lakh Group A + 4 lakh Group B)
- Rewards: 5 lakh points (1 lakh Group A + 4 lakh Group B)
Even though each card has separate limits, Axis applies the transfer cap based on the highest eligible limit across all cards. So in this case, the overall annual transfer limit will be 10 lakh EDGE Reward Points, as per the Magnus Burgundy card.
Important: The minimum transfer is 300 EDGE Reward Points or 500 EDGE Miles. The maximum transfer is limited to the points available in your account or your annual capping(whichever is lower).
How to Convert EDGE Reward Points or EDGE Miles
You can transfer your EDGE Reward Points or EDGE Miles online through Axis Bank’s Travel EDGE platform. Here’s how it works:
Log in to Travel Edge: Sign in to your Travel EDGE account and go to the “Points or Miles Transfer section”.
Select Your Preferred Partner: Choose the airline or hotel partner you want to transfer your points or miles to.
Link Membership ID (First-time only): If this is your first transfer to that partner, you’ll need to link your loyalty program membership ID.For future transfers, you can skip this and go straight to the 'Points/Miles Transfer' section.

Once verified, your points or miles are transferred to the partner program, where you can redeem them for flights, hotel stays, or other rewards based on that program’s rules.

The value you get from your credit card points depends heavily on the transfer ratio, which varies by card type and partner program.Premium cards like Burgundy Private and Magnus Burgundy generally offer the best ratios, while entry-level cards have higher conversion ratios.
Things to Keep in Mind Before Transferring
Once transferred, points cannot be reversed. It’s best to check flight or hotel availability before transferring a large number of points. Also, partner loyalty programs follow their own expiry rules, which may be different from Axis Bank’s policies.

Axis Bank’s wide range of transfer partners makes its credit cards highly rewarding for travellers, but the real value lies in understanding partner groups, annual capping, and transfer ratios. With a bit of planning, you can turn everyday spending into meaningful travel experiences.
