Scapia Credit Card Updates 2026

From 27 February 2026 onwards , Federal Bank Scapia Credit Card will have major changes on rewards and airport benefits. For many users, this reduces the card’s everyday value, especially people using it for lounge access or paying regular bills.

Scapia Credit Card Updates 2026
Scapia updates its reward structure and raises spend requirements for airport benefits.

What’s New: International Airport Privileges Added

Scapia is introducing international airport privileges for users booking international flights through the Scapia app, while it might be helpful for international travellers but it do comes with strict entry.

Book an international flight worth ₹50,000 or more in a single booking through the Scapia app.

You get:

  • Airport privileges at Indian international terminals for duty-free shopping, brand outlets, or dining
  • 100% value back as rewards, up to ₹2,000 per booking

This benefit can be used multiple times, but only if you meet the booking requirement each time. For most casual travellers, this may be hard to unlock regularly.

What’s Changed

Lounge Access Now Needs More Monthly Spending

Earlier, Scapia’s lounge access was popular because it was easy to unlock. You could spend around ₹10,000 in a month and enjoy unlimited domestic lounge access and airport privileges.

That’s no longer the case.

  • You now need to spend ₹20,000 in a month
  • The spend can be on one card or combined across Visa and RuPay
  • You no longer need to track spends separately

While tracking is simpler, the total spend needed has doubled. For casual spenders, this makes airport lounge access much harder to reach.

Rewards on Regular Bills Are No Longer Available

One of the quieter but more impactful changes is the removal of rewards on common bill payments.

From 27 February 2026, you won’t earn rewards on:

  • Insurance payments (MCC 6300)
  • Utility transactions (MCC 4900, 4812, 4814, 4816, 4899)

This means people won't be getting on with their everyday expenses like electricity, mobile, broadband, gas, and water bills, which previously provided benefits. All other eligible spends will continue to earn credit card rewards as per the existing structure.

What Still Works Well with Scapia

Even after these changes, Scapia hasn’t lost all its strengths. It is still very popular among solo backpackers because it helps them to unlock travel rewards and enjoy vacation worry free.

Here are key benefits Scapia still holds:

  • Zero forex markup on international spends
  • 10% rewards on eligible Visa credit card spends
  • 5% rewards on eligible RuPay credit card spends
  • 20% rewards on bookings made directly on the Scapia app

If you travel internationally or spend abroad often, the zero forex markup still makes Scapia one of the better options.

Is the Federal Bank Scapia Credit Card Still Worth It?

The Federal Bank Scapia Credit Card can still be a great fit if you travel frequently, spend 20000+ per month, gather more credit card points and value simplicity over complicated credit card reward systems.

If you mainly used it for easy lounge access, paid insurance or utility bills on it, or your monthly spends were usually around ₹10,000 – ₹15,000, the card may now feel less rewarding because benefits are harder to unlock and rewards on key everyday categories are removed.
