Axis Bank Adds IndiGo BluChip as Transfer Partner - June 2026

Axis Bank has added IndiGo BluChip as a new transfer partner for eligible EDGE Reward Points and EDGE Miles. This gives Axis Bank cardholders another domestic airline option for using their points or miles. IndiGo has one of the largest domestic networks in India and often has strong direct connectivity on many tier 2 and tier 3 routes. For users collecting Axis points without a clear international redemption plan, BluChip Miles can now be a practical domestic travel option.

Axis Bank EDGE Rewards and EDGE Miles transfer to IndiGo BluChip Miles from June 2026
Axis cardholders can now transfer EDGE Rewards and EDGE Miles to IndiGo BluChip Miles.

For the first two months, Axis is offering better-than-usual conversion ratios as an introductory offer. Once those two months end, standard ratios apply. Some ratios change significantly, so it is worth understanding both before you transfer anything.

Introductory Transfer Ratios

During the introductory offer period, select Axis cards get better conversion ratios for IndiGo BluChip transfers. The offer is available for two months from 18 June 2026 and Axis Bank may modify, withdraw or extend it at its discretion.

The full comparison of introductory ratios, standard ratios and transfer caps is covered in the table below.

Transfer Ratios and Caps at a Glance

Once the two-month introductory period ends, standard conversion ratios will apply, so it is important to compare the temporary offer with the regular rates before transferring. The intro offer is most useful for cards like Magnus for Burgundy, Reserve, Magnus, Olympus, Atlas and Horizon, where the temporary ratio is better than the standard ratio.

One exception is other eligible credit and debit cards. These cards move from 20:1 during the intro offer to 10:1 after the offer period, which means non-premium Axis cardholders may be better off waiting before transferring.

The table below compares the introductory ratio, standard ratio and Group B transfer cap for each eligible card. The ratios are shown as Axis points or miles : IndiGo BluChip Miles. For example, a 5:4 ratio means 5 Axis EDGE Reward Points convert into 4 IndiGo BluChip Miles.

Transfer Caps: Check This Before You Move Points

IndiGo BluChip falls under Axis Bank’s Group B transfer partners. This matters because Axis has separate annual transfer caps for Group A and Group B partners.

In simple terms, Group A includes many international airline partners like Etihad Guest, Singapore Airlines, Turkish Airlines and United MileagePlus. Group B includes IndiGo BluChip along with several other airline and hotel partners.

For IndiGo BluChip transfers, the Group B cap is the number to check. These caps are shared across all Group B partners and apply on a calendar-year basis from 1 January to 31 December. If you have already transferred points or miles to other Group B partners this year, check your remaining limit before initiating an IndiGo BluChip transfer.

How to Transfer Axis EDGE Points or Miles to IndiGo BluChip

You can transfer EDGE Reward Points or EDGE Miles through the Axis Bank Mobile App under the EDGE Rewards section, or through the Travel EDGE portal.

Before transferring, you must have an active IndiGo BluChip membership account, and the transfer should be made only to your own loyalty account.

The name on your Axis card account should match the name on your IndiGo BluChip account. IndiGo BluChip transfers may take up to 1–2 working days to reflect.

Important Terms Before You Transfer

  • The minimum transfer requirement is 300 EDGE Reward Points or 500 EDGE Miles, depending on the reward currency being used.

  • Cardholders can link only one IndiGo BluChip membership ID at a time. If you update or change the linked ID, the earlier ID may get delinked, and Axis mentions a 60-day waiting period before changing the loyalty ID again. So make sure you link the correct IndiGo BluChip account before transferring.

  • Transfers are final and cannot be reversed or refunded. Once EDGE Reward Points or EDGE Miles are converted into IndiGo BluChip Miles, they will be governed by the IndiGo BluChip programme rules.

  • IndiGo BluChips also have a soft-expiry rule. They remain valid as long as the member is active in the programme within the last 24 months. Earning or redeeming BluChips on IndiGo or its partner network can help keep the account active, so do not transfer points unless you are likely to use or maintain the BluChip account.

  • Axis Bank can also change partner lists, transfer ratios, caps or offer terms without prior notice.

Should Axis Cardholders Transfer to IndiGo BluChip?

This can be useful for Axis cardholders who regularly fly IndiGo or travel on routes where IndiGo is the most convenient option. If you hold Magnus for Burgundy, Reserve, Magnus, Olympus, Atlas or Horizon and already have IndiGo flights planned, the introductory period is worth checking because your transfer ratio will become worse after the first two months.

If you hold a Select, Privilege or Rewards card, there is no major urgency from a ratio point of view because the 10:1 ratio remains the same during and after the introductory period. If you are using another eligible Axis credit or debit card, waiting may actually be better because the ratio improves from 20:1 during the intro offer to 10:1 after the offer period.

This also fits into Axis Bank’s recent transfer-partner changes. Earlier this year, Axis removed popular partners like Accor Live Limitless, Marriott Bonvoy and Qatar Privilege Club. Newer options like British Airways Club, Finnair Plus, Lotusmiles and now IndiGo BluChip give users more choices, but they may not fully replace the value some users got before the recent: Axis Bank Credit Card Devaluation.

So the right move depends on your card type and travel plan. Transfer only if you have a clear IndiGo redemption in mind, especially because transfers are final and cannot be reversed.

With transfer partners and card benefits changing often, you can use SaveSage to compare transfer ratios, check annual caps, track introductory windows and understand whether moving points before a deadline actually makes sense. Since partner lists and conversion rates across Axis Bank and other issuers can change quickly, SaveSage helps keep the key details in one place before you move your points.
